What is Alfresco Workspace?
Alfresco Workspace is a modern web interface for the Alfresco content repository. It gives everyday users a fast, simple way to find, preview, share and collaborate on documents, while all content stays in your existing Alfresco server.
Is my content moved or copied anywhere?
No. Files, versions, permissions and metadata stay in your Alfresco repository. Alfresco Workspace talks to Alfresco's REST API on your behalf and never stores your documents.
Which file types can I preview?
PDFs, images, video, audio and text open directly. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other office formats are previewed through Alfresco's built-in PDF conversion.
How are permissions handled?
Exactly as in Alfresco. You only see what your Alfresco account is allowed to see, and actions like rename or delete appear only when you have the rights to perform them.
Does it work on phones and tablets?
Yes. The interface adapts to any screen size and supports touch, so you can review and share documents on the go.
